The hiring manager is seeking a candidate with early-career exposure to Employer’s Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) claims, combined with foundational claims experience (from any insurance line) and around two years’ liability knowledge gained through claims, broking, or underwriting. An understanding of the First Notification of Loss (FNOL) process is essential, and this role is well suited to someone who is eager to build a long-term career within commercial insurance.
This blend of experience will enable you to confidently manage and support clients throughout the full claims journe-from FNOL to settlement. You’ll handle a varied range of liability claims while expanding your knowledge across wider commercial insurance lines. Comprehensive training will be provided to develop your expertise across the entire lifecycle and multiple product classes.

What you’ll bring
* Essential: Experience handling FNOL or involvement in the claims process

* Essential: Minimum of 2 years’ exposure to liability insurance, gained within a claims, broking, or underwriting role

* Strong communication and organisational skills

* A proactive, positive attitude and a genuine desire to learn and develop

* Confidence with IT systems and managing a varied workload

* Candidates who have gained claims experience in another line of business and later developed liability knowledge (e.g., through an Account Handler role) are also highly encouraged to apply—this role is ideal for someone looking to combine their liability expertise with a client-focused, claims-oriented position

Working style
* This position is best suited to someone local to Leeds and comfortable working full-time in the office.

* While one hybrid day per week (Tuesday–Thursday) is available, the team thrives in a collaborative, in-office environment where learning, development, and support are central to their culture.
