Support Worker in Custody – Activity FacilitatorWest Yorkshire

About the RoleReed Further Education is seeking a Support Worker in Custody – Activity Facilitator to join the Creating Future Opportunities (CFO) Evolution Programme. This is a dual role where you will provide one-to-one and group support to participants in custody, helping them prepare for release and successfully resettle into their communities.
You will design and deliver tailored activities, training programmes, and interventions that promote education, training, and employment, while supporting desistance from crime. This role involves close collaboration with HMPPS and other agencies, ensuring effective Through the Gate support and warm handovers to community services.
Key Responsibilities*Engage and case-manage participants on the CFO Evolution programme.
*Create action plans and deliver interventions to meet individual needs.
*Provide advocacy, mentoring, advice, and guidance.
*Monitor and track participant progress.
*Build strong relationships with prison staff and partner agencies.
*Facilitate group sessions and activities to at least Grade 2 standard.
*Complete pre-release inventories and plan for resettlement.
About You*Experience working with offenders or marginalised groups in guidance, advice, or counselling environments.
*Strong interpersonal skills with an empathetic, approachable style.
*Ability to deliver one-to-one and group sessions effectively.
*Knowledge of issues affecting offender rehabilitation and desistance theory.
*Familiarity with prison or probation environments and local training/employment opportunities.
Desirable:
*Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) or teaching qualifications.


All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
