Job Description:
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) is seeking a dedicated Family Court Disclosure Supervisor to join our Criminal Records Unit. This is a pivotal role ensuring the accurate and timely disclosure of information for family court proceedings, while supervising a team to maintain high standards of performance and compliance.
This is an initial 6-month contract based at Central Park (hybrid working) with an hourly rate of £17.30 per hour. The successful candidate will need to pass the relevant vetting required for working at Greater Manchester Police.
We are looking for a motivational, experienced supervisor with significant performance management experience who is able to provide feedback to staff at all levels with a view to improving overall team performance.
Key Responsibilities
*Supervise day-to-day operations of Family Court Disclosure staff, ensuring objectives and standards are met.
*Manage Police National Computer (PNC) duties in line with the National Criminal Justice Records System (Phoenix).
*Oversee invoicing for disclosure materials and ensure prompt recovery.
*Monitor and mentor staff performance, providing feedback and development support.
*Prioritise and process court orders and witness summons within strict timescales.
*Attend family court hearings and represent GMP when required.
*Liaise with internal teams and external agencies (e.g., Ministry of Defence, HMRC) to resolve disclosure and criminal record queries.
*Ensure compliance with legislation including Data Protection, Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, and PACE.
*Handle sensitive information relating to serious offences and vulnerable individuals with discretion.
*Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and systems.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience:
*Previous experience in a Criminal Records Unit.
*Supervisory experience in an administrative or clerical environment.
*Knowledge of family court and care proceedings.
*Competence in Microsoft Office and other computer systems.
*Experience in mentoring/coaching staff and managing recruitment/training.
Skills & Abilities:
*Strong organisational and decision-making skills.
*Ability to present information clearly and accurately.
*Confidence in giving constructive feedback and inspiring trust.
*Analytical and problem-solving capability.
