Job Description:
HR Officer (Part-Time, Term Time Only)
Location: Reading
Hours: 8 hours per week (1 day per week), Term Time Only
Salary: Competitive
They want an experienced and proactive HR Officer to join their administration team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy environment and can provide high-quality, confidential HR support.
Key Responsibilities:
*Deliver timely and accurate HR support to the Headteacher.
*Manage recruitment processes, including placing adverts, updating job descriptions, and carrying out pre-employment checks.
*Maintain and update the Single Central Register to ensure compliance.
*Support payroll processes, including managing expenses and liaising with providers.
*Assist with absence management, contract changes, and appraisal processes.
*Contribute to the smooth running of the administrative function and uphold the ethos and values of the organisation.
What They’re Looking For:
*Previous HR experience in an educational or similar setting.
*Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to work independently and use initiative.
*Discretion and trustworthiness when handling confidential information.
*Proficiency in standard software packages and willingness to learn new systems.
Essential Qualifications:
*GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
Personal Attributes:
*Flexible and adaptable with a ’can-do’ attitude.
*Professional, proactive, and committed to equality and safeguarding.
