Job Description:
Mechanical Technician
Department: Oil & Gas (Subsea)
Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Type: Full-Time
As a Mechanical Technician, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our manufacturing operations across electronic, mechanical, and systems functions. You’ll be hands-on with testing, troubleshooting, and process control-ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
What You’ll Do
* Execute technical tasks within dedicated work groups and key cell projects
* Apply test techniques and procedures to validate product integrity
* Interpret and work from job packets, routings, wire lists, and bills of material
* Maintain and calibrate production tools and equipment
* Diagnose and repair product, process, or program defects
* Read blueprints, identify components, and perform wire preparation, stripping, crimping, harness repair, and termination
* Operate and program automated machinery
* Drive continuous improvement using our Manufacturing System principles
What You Bring
* Experience in a Technology or Manufacturing Center
* Familiarity with production workflows and assembly processes
* Exposure to technical investigations and production testing
* Strong skills in electronics, hydraulics, and mechanical assemblies
* Proficiency with manual hand tools and blueprint reading
