Job Description:
Elevation Recruitment Group is pleased to be supporting our Leeds-based client as they look to recruit a highly organised and detail-driven Finance Assistant. This role offers the opportunity to support a busy finance function across income processing, reporting, fixed assets, and month-end duties, working closely with senior finance leaders.
Responsibilities & Duties
*Undertake general finance tasks including data input, producing analysis, and preparing ad hoc reports using Microsoft Excel
*Import payment files and record daily credit card income
*Post all income and expenditure to the cashbook daily and produce weekly bank reconciliations
*Work with the Head of Financial Operations to maintain the Fixed Asset Register, including additions, disposals, and completing asset/inventory checks
*Prepare weekly payment runs and upload BACS files, ensuring financial verification, adherence to procedures, and correct VAT treatment
*Support the Head of Financial Reporting and Financial Systems with month-end processes, including calculating prepayments and accruals, posting journals, and providing ad hoc analysis
*Collate financial information required by external stakeholders
*Maintain accurate financial records
*Assist with collating data required for preparation of the annual Financial Statements
*Ensure compliance with internal financial procedures and maintain a high level of accuracy across all work
Education & Qualifications
Essential:
*GCSEs including English and Maths at grade C or above
*AAT Level 4, or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA
Skills & Experience
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*Strong attention to detail and high accuracy levels
*Proficient in Microsoft Excel
*Substantial experience within finance and accounting
*Experience in cashbook entry, bank reconciliations, accruals, and prepayment calculations
*Highly organised with the ability to work quickly and accurately
*Ability to work both independently and within a team
*Experience working to strict deadlines
*Working knowledge of maintaining a Fixed Asset Register and depreciation policy
