Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality, tailored lessons in English and Maths (based on the child’s level and needs).
* Use a variety of teaching strategies to support the child’s learning, ensuring sessions are engaging and appropriate for their emotional and academic needs.
* Develop and implement personalised learning plans that support the child’s progress.
* Provide regular feedback to the child’s parents/carers regarding progress and areas for development.
* Build a trusting, positive relationship with the child, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children with SEMH needs and/or Special Educational Needs.
* A passion for supporting children to reach their full potential.
* Strong subject knowledge in English and Maths (GCSE level or higher).
* Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to the child’s individual needs.
* Excellent communication skills, both with the child and parents/carers.
* DBS checked (or willing to obtain one).
Desirable:
* Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) or relevant tutoring experience.
* Familiarity with SEN teaching strategies or qualifications in SEN (e.g., SENCo, Autism Awareness, etc.).
* Experience working with children with SEMH, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or other complex needs.
