Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist
*Hourly Rate: £17.18 PAYE
*Location: S2, Sheffield
*Job Type: Full-time, Temporary
We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join a leading public sector organisation. This role is ideal for someone with a background in procurement, supply chain, or contract management, particularly from sectors such as construction, housing, facilities management, or repairs and maintenance. The position is to start ASAP and offers full-time hours.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Provide strategic leadership, direction, innovation, and control across commissioning, procurement, and supplier management activities.
*Liaise with suppliers and build strong, effective relationships.
*Conduct market reviews, benchmarking, and soft market testing to ensure competitive service.
*Manage contracts effectively, ensuring compliance and performance.
*Support the tendering process, from preparation through to awarding.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven background in procurement, supply chain, or contract management.
*Strong negotiation skills and confidence in dealing with suppliers.
*Experience in contract management, ideally within construction, housing, facilities management, or repairs and maintenance sectors.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
