Job Description:
Management Accountant
*Contract: Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Cover)
*Location: Mayfair, London

Join a dynamic and fast-paced Finance team as a Management Accountant in Mayfair, London. This role is crucial for providing financial insight and support across the business, focusing on the preparation of monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. Reporting directly to the Chief Accountant, this position ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while driving continuous improvement in processes and controls.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Manage the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
*Support and review budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insightful variance analysis, commentary, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
*Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepayments, depreciation, payroll etc.) with a high level of accuracy.
*Reconcile balance sheet accounts and proactively investigate discrepancies to maintain robust financial integrity.
*Provide high-quality financial analysis and performance insights to support business decision-making.
*Manage cash flow forecasting with great precision.
*Support and enhance month-end and year-end close processes ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
*Regular postings of invoices (mostly intercompany) alongside managing recharges.
*Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns while ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.
*Conduct regular bank reconciliations and issuing of bank payments.
*Manage monthly intercompany agreements, credit control activities and AR/AP reviews ensuring timely cleardowns and resolution of mismatches.
*Liaise with other team members and departments to gather and analyse financial data, promoting strong teamwork and cross-department collaboration.
*Assist in audit preparation and respond to auditor queries as required.
*Contribute to continuous improvement through system enhancements, process optimisation, and automation initiatives, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA).
*Minimum 3 years of experience in a management accountant role.
*Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas) and experience with ERP/accounting systems desirable (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Sage).
*Strong grounding in management accounting, financial control, and reporting best practices.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
*Confident communicator with the ability to work with non-financial stakeholders.
*Proactive, driven, and committed to continuous improvement and professional development.
