Job Description:
A law enforcement organisation based in Hampshire & Isle of Wight is seeking a dedicated and experienced Serious Case Reviewer to support the Head of Crime Standards & Serious Crime Review Team. This vital role ensures that learning from serious case reviews is embedded into policy and practice across the force and with multi-agency partners.
You will focus on Public Protection matters including Child Abuse, Adult Abuse, Domestic Abuse, Missing Persons, and Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA), helping to drive continuous improvement and safeguard vulnerable individuals.
This role is an initial 6-month contract and will be based from the Winchester office and will offer hybrid working. The successful candidate will need to be able to achieve the required vetting and maintain it.
Key Responsibilities
*Represent the force on strategic Serious Case Review sub-groups and panels.
*Conduct Internal Management Reviews and audits for Public Protection-related events.
*Make recommendations for improvement across force and multi-agency processes.
*Support the implementation of recommendations and ensure they are embedded in practice.
*Stay up to date with best practice, policy, and procedures in Public Protection disciplines.
*Contribute to policy development and training design/delivery for Public Protection.
*Advise managers and investigators on standards and best practice.
*Lead operational debriefs and attend scrutiny panels to identify organisational learning.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
*Educated to QCF Level 6 or equivalent experience.
*Significant experience in a Public Protection environment.
*In-depth knowledge of public protection policy and procedures.
*Proven track record in managing, overseeing, or reviewing complex investigations.
*Ability to handle sensitive information in line with GDPR and force policies.
*Willingness to undergo and maintain appropriate vetting.
*Commitment to regular and effective service, including occasional fire warden duties.
Desirable:
*Specialist training in Public Protection disciplines.
*Experience conducting serious case reviews or participating in review panels.
