Are you an experienced Paraplanner looking for a hybrid opportunity with excellent benefits and long-term career development? Our client, a highly reputable financial planning practice, is seeking a proactive and technically strong Paraplanner to join their team.
Our Client are a forward-thinking firm of Financial Planners who operate an open culture and support and encourage development within their organisation. You will need to have industry related experience and be experienced in writing suitability reports to be considered for this opportunity.
In this role, you will support a team of Financial Advisers by providing high-quality research, report writing and technical input-ensuring advice is both compliant and of an exceptional standard.
Role Overview
The Paraplanner will deliver technical research and support to the advisory team, ensuring all client advice is prepared accurately, efficiently, and in line with regulatory expectations. You will play a key part in helping the business achieve its goals while mitigating operational and compliance risks.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Advisory Support
" Support advisers by completing non-client facing tasks relating to preparation and administration of recommendations
" Liaise with advisers to clarify requirements and discuss advice areas
" Act as a main point of contact for clients, dealing with queries promptly
" Arrange and, when required, attend client meetings
" Issue updates and reports to clients in a timely manner
Research & Report Writing
" Review client investment portfolios, risk profiles, and asset allocations
" Undertake research and prepare recommendations
" Prepare documentation for adviser review
" Draft suitability reports
" Implement recommendations, including completing applications and making portfolio changes where instructed
File & Compliance Management
" Prepare and maintain fully compliant client files
" Gather all relevant information to support recommendations
" Ensure all records are accurate, up-to-date, and stored in line with data protection requirements
General Responsibilities
" Adhere to firm-wide compliance processes including T&C, complaints, AML, financial crime, bribery, data security, and record keeping
" Comply with the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, FCA Conduct Rules, and all relevant regulatory frameworks
" Keep up to date with product, legislative, and regulatory changes
" Maintain professional and courteous client interaction at all times
" Support with wider business projects and tasks as required
Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required
" Strong understanding of relevant FCA legislation including COBS, SYSC (AML sections), JMLSG guidance, and financial crime frameworks
" Demonstrable experience producing high-quality suitability reports
" Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal
" Strong analytical ability and confident using financial planning tools such as cashflow modelling, ATR assessments, and product/fund analysis systems
" Solid technical knowledge including allowances, tax, and product structures
" Positive attitude, strong cultural alignment, and commitment to quality
" Good IT proficiency across platforms and financial planning systems
Qualification Requirements
" Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning
