We are looking for empathetic, resilient, and proactive individuals to join our client’s team working within their customer service team as a 111 call handler with the mental health team
About the Role
You will be the first point of contact for service users experiencing emotional distress or crisis. You’ll provide compassionate support, effective signposting, and play a key role in safeguarding individuals accessing our services
The Role
Answer incoming calls from people in distress—be their lifeline, their listener, their steady hand
• Respond to Assistive Technology alarms—ensuring safety, comfort, and rapid response
• Guide people to the right mental health and safeguarding services
• Keep things running smoothly with accurate notes and smart solutions
• Work in a supportive team that lifts you up, every step of the way
As you can appreciate due to the nature of these roles you will need to be able to work on a shift basis that includes working weekends and Bank Holidays
Shifts:
*Early: 6:00am – 3:15pm & Late: 1:15pm – 10:30pm
*Early: 6:00am – 3:15pm, Late: 1:15pm – 10:30pm and Nights: 9:00pm – 6:00am
*Late: 1:15pm – 10:30pm and Nights: 9:00pm – 6:00am
The hours worked between 10pm and 7am are paid at a higher rate.
35 hours, 4 Days a week
What we are looking for
Must have experience either working on a crisis helpline, in mental health support, or similar roles
• A calm head, a warm heart, and excellent communication skills
• Confidence in using IT systems and juggling tasks under pressure
