Part-Time Legal Cashier
Gloucester
Up to circa £28,000 (DOE)
A well-established and respected law firm based in Gloucester is seeking an experienced Part-Time Legal Cashier to join their friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with legal accounting experience who is looking for a flexible part-time role within a reputable local practice.
The Role
As the firm’s Legal Cashier, you will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the practice, ensuring strict compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules. You will work closely with fee earners and the management team, providing accurate and timely financial support.
Key Responsibilities
*Maintain and reconcile client and office accounts in line with SRA Accounts Rules
*Process client and office payments (BACS, CHAPS, cheques, card payments)
*Carry out daily banking tasks, including reconciliations and bank transfers
*Process invoices, expenses, and supplier payments
*Assist with VAT returns, month-end procedures, and financial reporting
*Support fee earners with financial queries and compliance processes
*Assist with preparations for internal and external audits
What We’re Looking For
*Previous experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm (essential)
*Strong working knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules
*Experience using legal accounting software (e.g., LEAP, Xero, or similar)
*Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
*Professional, proactive, and collaborative approach
