Job Description:
On behalf of our client, Nrl Recruitment are looking for an Instrument Technician for work off shore.
Duration: From 17th December for 21 days
Location: Off Shore ( leaving from Aberdeen )
Certification (Copies required) :
*MIST
*BOSIET
*OEUK Medical
*Trade Certification (e.g. Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 etc.)
*COMPEX 01-04
*TSBT02
Role Purpose
The Instrument Technician is responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
*Install, inspect, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation equipment such as transmitters, sensors, control valves, and analysers.
*Perform routine preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on instrumentation systems.
*Diagnose faults and carry out troubleshooting on control systems, including PLCs and DCS.
*Ensure compliance with our clients safety standards and industry regulations during all activities.
*Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and calibration certificates.
*Support commissioning and start-up activities for new projects or equipment upgrades.
*Collaborate with other disciplines (electrical, mechanical) to resolve multi-disciplinary issues.
Qualifications & Experience
*Education: Diploma or NVQ Level 3 in Instrumentation, Control Engineering, or equivalent.
*Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in instrumentation maintenance within oil & gas or petrochemical industry.
*Skills: *Strong knowledge of process control systems and instrumentation principles.
*Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and technical manuals.
*Familiarity with hazardous area equipment and ATEX standards.
*Certifications: CompEx or equivalent certification for hazardous areas preferred.
Competencies
*Safety-focused mindset.
*Problem-solving and analytical skills.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Good communication and reporting skills.
