Role: Admin Assistant - Legal
Location: Morley, West Yorkshire
Contract: Full time, permanent
Salary: £23,000 - £25,000

A busy office is looking for an organised and proactive Administrative Assistant to support the team in a varied role. The position includes typing, reception duties, and a range of general administrative tasks.
You will handle day-to-day responsibilities such as copy typing, managing phone enquiries and post, organising diaries, and providing essential support to colleagues. This role involves regular contact with clients both in person and over the phone, so professionalism and confident communication are key.
The ideal candidate will be accurate, methodical and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A positive attitude, strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions closely are essential. Once trained, the role requires someone who can use their initiative and work proactively to support the smooth running of the office.
Key Responsibilities *
Copy typing and audio/copy document production
*
Reception and front-of-house duties
*
Opening new files and entering information into the case management system
*
Diary management and arranging appointments
*
Producing letters, forms and other documents
*
Filing, billing, photocopying and other routine admin tasks
*
Updating the case management system as matters progress
*
Handling incoming calls and dealing with enquiries appropriately
*
Raising purchase orders and ordering office supplies
*
Managing incoming and outgoing post
*
Archiving files and supporting general office administration
*
Helping maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment
*
Contributing to ongoing improvements in office processes
*
Carrying out any other reasonable tasks as required
Essential Skills *
Strong copy-typing skills
*
Professional and friendly client service
*
Clear, confident telephone manner
*
Reliable administrative support skills
*
High accuracy and attention to detail
*
Ability to organise workload and meet deadlines under supervision
*
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
*
Comfortable working under pressure
*
Good literacy and numeracy
Experience *
Copy-typing experience
*
At least 12 months in a similar administrative role
Other Requirements *
Flexible, positive, "can-do" approach
*
Excellent written English for producing clear, accurate documents
*Confident communication skills for dealing with client and third-party enquiries
