We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join a growing team near Reading, supporting financial operations within the engineering industry. This permanent role requires a skilled professional to manage financial records, support the junior members of the team and handle transactional finance processes. This role will require someone willing to be on site 5 days a week and handle transactional duties as well as month end processes.

Description
The Management Accountant duties will include:
*Support the Project Finance Manager to ensure that monthly and annual responsibilities are satisfied in line with expectations.
*Involvement in transactional duties eg purchase order & invoice processing, expenses, weekly bank reconciliations.
*Take ownership of the monthly management accounts and financial reports.
*Preparation and posting of monthly journal (accruals, prepayments, fixed assets etc).
*Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
*Assist the annual tax, accounting, statuatory accounts and audit year-end processes.
*Assist in execution of activities detailed on monthly to-do lists (eg VAT returns, CIS returns)
*Adhoc analysis and support to the wider finance team
*Support the junior members of the team with queries and act as an escalation point before the management levels
Profile
The successful Management Accountant should have/be:
*Actively be studying ACCA or CIMA ideally to the Part Qualified or Finalist level.
*Demonstrable experience in Management Accounting.
*Strong knowledge in month end-processes and transactional finance.
*Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
*Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
*Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
*Flexible approach to deal with a rapidly growing and developing environment.
*Be able to drive due to location of the role.
