Role Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Transactional and Month End
*Maintain Cash Book, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, and Fixed Asset Register.
*Perform supplier statement reconciliations and issue customer statements.
*Liaise with other entities and agree intercompany balances and payments.
*Prepare and post monthly journals.
*Produce trial balance at month end, ensuring all profit & loss, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations are completed.
*Reconcile gross margin, sales statistics, and stock reports to ledger balances.
*Assist with variance analysis and system reconciliations/analysis.
*Support cost analysis reports for raw materials, labour, and overheads.
Budgeting & Forecasting
*Assist in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
*Work closely with operational teams to ensure accurate cost projections.
*Provide scenario analysis for changes in material costs or production volumes.
Cost Accounting
*Maintain and update standard costing models for products.
*Analyse production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
*Support pricing decisions with accurate cost data.
Operational Support
*Partner with production and supply chain teams to improve financial performance.
*Provide financial insight for capital expenditure projects and investment decisions.
*Support continuous improvement initiatives with financial analysis.
Compliance & Controls
*Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial policies.
*Assist with internal and external audits.
*Maintain accurate records for statutory and management reporting.
VAT Returns
*Prepare and reconcile VAT returns.
*Reconcile VAT control accounts.
*Ensure correct VAT treatment across the sales product portfolio and purchases.
Other Duties
*Manage the finance inbox and respond to internal and external queries.
*Produce weekly flash reports (Sales & Orders, EBITDA, Top Debtors).
*Complete all ONS requests as required.
*Maintain petty cash.
*Process expenses in line with company policy.
*Manage key debtors.
*Process weekly payment runs and proforma payments.
*Undertake ad hoc assignments as required.
*Assist with year-end statutory accounts and annual tax compliance.
*Ensure compliance with tax regulations and group procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
*Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Professional Certifications:
*Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (Desirable)
Experience:
*Minimum 1+ years in management accounting, ideally within manufacturing or industrial sectors.
