SEN Teacher (PSHE & Functional Skills)

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting a dedicated KS4 Teacher for a specialist SEMH School setting based in the Blandford Forum area.

Our client is a specialist educational provision for young people with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. They are in need of an experienced Secondary trained classroom teacher to join them from September 2025 to work with KS4 pupils, delivering PSHE and Functional Skills (English & Maths).

Given the complex needs of the students, we are looking for individuals who are capable, resilient, and enthusiastic about working in a challenging but highly rewarding environment.

The successful candidate will be working with students with behavioural difficulties and SEMH needs, so prior experience within this field is essential. You will be supporting the young people both within the school setting and, where required, in the wider community.

Applicants from Secondary Trained Teachers or those with alternative curriculum experience are welcome!

*Contract: Permanent (Long-term)
*Hours: Full-time, 8.20 am 4.00 pm
*Start Date: September 2025
*Pay Rate: From £168.29 per day
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience as an SEMH Teacher
*A genuine passion for working with students with SEMH needs
*Experience delivering PSHE and/or Functional Skills (English & Maths) at KS4
*Strong classroom management skills and ability to tailor content to individual needs
*Experience developing behaviour management strategies
*A commitment to inclusive and restorative approaches in education
About You:
*You are resilient and skilled in de-escalating challenging behaviours
*Able to recognise and respond to individual needs with adaptive teaching methods
*Hold high expectations for student outcomes and personal development
*Confident in managing and working collaboratively with support staff
*Capable of planning and delivering engaging, targeted curriculum for KS4
To Be Eligible for This Role Through Prospero Teaching, You Must:
*Hold Right to Work in the UK
*Hold an enhanced child-barred list DBS certificate registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
*Provide two professional references
