Procurement Policy & Governance Specialist
Salary Guide: c£60-62K+comprehensive benefits package
Location: South West London (hybrid working - 3 days office, 2 days WFH)
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Are you an experienced procurement professional with a passion for policy, governance, and driving strategic change? We are seeking a Procurement Policy & Governance Lead to join a forward-thinking public sector organisation and play a pivotal role in shaping procurement strategy and governance.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence senior-level decision-making, develop robust procurement policies, and ensure compliance with the latest legislation, including the Procurement Act 2023. You will lead on governance, policy development, and continuous improvement initiatives that deliver value for money, social value, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
*Develop and implement procurement policies and governance frameworks aligned with legislative and national requirements.
*Advise senior stakeholders, including leadership teams and elected members, on procurement strategy and compliance.
*Drive category management improvements and embed social value, sustainability, and innovation in procurement activities.
*Lead change management initiatives to improve procurement processes and deliver organisational priorities.
*Provide expert guidance on governance, legislation, and best practice to internal teams and stakeholders.
About You
*Strong knowledge of public procurement legislation and policy issues (e.g., Social Value, Climate Change, Modern Slavery).
*Proven experience in developing and delivering procurement strategies and governance frameworks.
*Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with experience advising senior leaders.
*Project management expertise (PRINCE2 or Agile preferred) and ability to lead change in complex environments.
