Job Description:
A prestigious museum group is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to join its Finance team on an interim basis for approximately 3–6 months. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your financial expertise to one of London’s leading museums and the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate financial and performance information, producing reports, and offering practical financial guidance to managers across the organisation.
*Please note that the successful candidate must be available to start early January 2026*
Key Responsibilities: *Build strong working relationships with budget holders, holding regular meetings to review forecasts and monitor spend.
*Champion effective financial management across the organisation through training and support.
*Prepare and present financial and non-financial information for senior leaders, trustees, and project managers.
*Collaborate with the Finance team to meet reporting requirements and develop new reporting tools.
*Ensure sound financial oversight of projects, including timely drawdown of funding.
*Support the annual budget cycle, including trustee approval and system uploads.
*Collect and analyse key performance indicators and benchmarking data.
*Provide financial analysis and business case support to income-generating departments.
*Work closely with fellow finance business partners to share expertise and balance workloads.
*Assist with statutory reporting requirements, including submissions to government departments and funding bodies.
*Contribute to year-end processes, audits, and preparation of consolidated accounts.
*Promote sustainable financial practices aligned with organisational values.
*Partner with HR colleagues to forecast and manage staffing budgets.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications and Experience:
*Fully qualified CCAB/CIMA accountant (or equivalent experience).
*Strong background in finance and accountancy roles.
*Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
*Experience in preparing annual accounts is desirable.
*Previous experience in charities/arts/charity SORP is preferred.
Skills and Attributes:
*Advanced IT skills, particularly with spreadsheets and financial systems.
*Confident communicator, able to explain financial concepts to non-financial colleagues.
*Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
*Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure.
*Exceptional attention to detail and analytical ability.
*Capable of setting clear objectives and managing own workload effectively.
*Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
*Commitment to inclusivity and respect in the workplace.
