Teaching Assistant – New SEN Provision
Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Term Time Only
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £22,906 – £23,621 (dependent on experience)
Hourly Rate: £12.82 – £13.22
Start Date: As soon as possible
About the Role
We are excited to be supporting a brand-new SEND secondary school in Horsham, West Sussex, catering for autistic young people aged 11–16. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing environment where kindness and understanding are at the heart of everything we do.
Students follow an adapted National Curriculum in small classes, with a strong focus on sensory needs and emotional wellbeing. Just over half of the students are girls, and many are transitioning from mainstream education to access a more tailored learning experience.
What You’ll Do
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting students both in and out of the classroom. You’ll work closely with teachers, therapists, and clinicians to deliver integrated strategies and interventions, helping every young person thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Building strong, positive relationships with students
*Supporting personalised learning plans
*Implementing therapeutic strategies provided by the clinical team
*Providing regular feedback to parents and professionals
*Assisting with enrichment activities such as outdoor learning, sports (including swimming), community projects, and educational visits
