Senior Accounts Officer – Birmingham

Job Type: Part-time, 3 days/week
Location: Office-based, Birmingham
Salary: £30,000 – 35,000 FTE (pro-rata for 3 days/week)
Key Responsibilities
*Oversee all day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
*Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
*Liaise with external accountants for payroll, statutory filings, and year-end processes.
*Manage accounts payable and receivable, cash flow, and budgeting.
*Ensure timely VAT returns and adherence to UK accounting regulations.
*Provide financial insights to support business growth and cost efficiency.
*Develop financial projections and scenario analysis using advanced Excel techniques to support strategic planning.
*Implement and refine financial processes for improved control and reporting.
Skills & Qualifications
*Proven experience in a senior accounting or finance role.
*Strong proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Excel.
*In-depth knowledge of UK accounting standards and VAT compliance.
*Ability to work independently and take ownership of financial decision-making.
*Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
*AAT Level 4, or equivalent experience preferred.
