Sharp Consultancy are working with a successful private equity–backed business based in Sheffield, who are seeking an exceptional Financial Controller to help drive the next stage of their journey.

The Role:
As Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in leading the finance function, ensuring robust financial management, and partnering with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making. This is a hands-on, influential position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:
*Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the finance function.
*Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
*Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
*Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
*Partner with the senior leadership team and private equity stakeholders to provide financial insights and support value creation.
*Manage year-end processes, including audit and statutory accounts.
*Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, reporting, and processes.
*Lead and develop a small, high-performing finance team.


About You:
*Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
*Experience within a private equity–backed, fast-growth, or similarly dynamic environment.
*Strong technical accounting skills combined with commercial acumen.
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
*A proactive, hands-on approach with a drive for improvement and efficiency.
