Job Description:
This role is on a part-time temporary basis for 3 months - 18-22 hours per week office-based (flexible on days/start/finish times)
SUMMARY
The Senior Finance Officer will support the effective and efficient running of the finance function. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial processing, maintaining high-quality financial records, supporting budgeting and reporting cycles.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will be allocated by the Finance Manager accordingly
Supervise and produce sales invoices
Supervise posting and payments of purchase invoices
Input data to spreadsheets, update reports for invoicing, banking and client reporting.
Ensure appropriate documentation and authorisation is obtained for all payments
Supervise posting of receipts to the sales ledger
Managing credit control
Take payments
Supervise record and process petty cash
Supervise and deal with supplier and client queries
Posting of bank statements and monitoring and reconciling the bank accounts
Support the management of restricted funds and grant income tracking
Supervise weekly banking
Manage payments made to external services
Be familiar with and ready to cover the work of the Finance Assistant
Overseeing and taking responsibility for all the Finance Assistant tasks
Support budgeting and forecasting process
Provide cost analysis and financial summaries
Supervise all accounting entries posted and produced by the Finance Assistant and support in the delivery of day-to-day financial operations such as payroll, invoicing, reconciliation and other transactions.
Undertake any other tasks appropriate to the post as advised by the Head of Finance, such as posting monthly journals, assisting with payroll and the preparation of management accounts and reports.
