Job Title: Management Accountant
Location: Edmonton
Reports To: Head of Finance
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time (Fully Office Based)
Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)

Role Overview
This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified or newly qualified Management Accountant to join a growing finance team. The role offers a diverse mix of responsibilities, including payroll processing from start to finish and management accounting tasks, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and wants to develop their skills further.
Initially, the role will involve approximately 50% payroll and 50% management accounting, transitioning over time to focus more on management accounting (around 70%).
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management (Start to Finish)
*Process payroll accurately and on time for all employees.
*Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and company policies.
*Handle pension contributions, statutory payments, and deductions.
*Maintain payroll records and respond to employee queries.
Management Accounting
*Prepare monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
*Perform variance analysis and provide commentary on financial performance.
*Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
*Support tax returns, audit preparation, and statutory reporting.
Financial Operations
*Manage bank reconciliations, expenses, and supplier payments.
*Oversee fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
*Monitor capital expenditure and assist with financial summaries for decision-making.
Month-End and Year-End Processes
*Contribute to closing activities, reconciliations, and audit support.
*Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Ad-Hoc Projects
*Provide analysis and support for special projects as directed by senior finance staff.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential:
*Actively studying or qualified in ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
*Experience in payroll processing and management accounting.
*Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems.
*Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable:
*Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP standards.
*Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Access).
*Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
