Job Description:
Grafton Banks Finance is working with a locally well-known property company in Brighton, East Sussex to recruit a Finance Manager on an initial 6-month contract. Reporting into the Finance Director you will be responsible for supporting with the smooth management and operations of the company’s finances. This will include managing a small team, managing the development of financial plans, budgets, re forecasting and multiyear modelling.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
*Produce budgets, forecasts, business plans and management accounts/reports that are accurate, up-to-date, comprehensible and prepared and distributed on time.
*Ensure efficient income and expenditure, cashflow and treasury management and reporting systems are in place and regularly reviewed
*Manage the collection of rents, housing benefit and service charges through efficient use of rent collection systems and working with project managers to manage the rent collection policy and reduce rent arrears
*Provide performance analysis and reporting, including management of all financial assumptions around rents, occupancy, voids and bad debt.
*Lead on management of investments, tax, reserves policy, insurance policy, bank relationships and balance sheet management.
*Manage operational systems for management of purchase orders, expenses, external payroll, pensions,
*Manage relationships as appropriate with external stakeholders/advisors including bankers, debt providers, auditors, tax advisors, regulators and insurers.
*Support and manage with the production of draft accounts and other year-end documentation
The Successful candidate:
*A qualified or Qualified by Experienced or part qualified accountant with relevant experience ( ACCA, CIMA, ACA, AAT, QBE)
*Experience in managing a broad range of functions including finance, business processing, and administration
*Housing and or property experience is desirable
*Producing budgets, cash flow, management accounts and quarterly forecasting.
*Developing IT systems for accounting packages, rental management, management reporting tools and designing and developing spreadsheets.
*Use of Microsoft packages including Excel
*Leading year-end, interim and internal audit.
*Line management experience
