Job Description:
English Teacher Maternity Cover (January Start)
Location: Rossendale
Paid to Scale depending on your teaching experience
Are you passionate about English literature and language? Do you want to inspire the next generation of learners? We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Rossendale.
This is a great opportunity if you are just starting out your carrier, or you are somebody with extensive experience - looking to take on a new challenge and be in a different environment. You will be working closely with the rest of the English department, where support is ensured from the rest of the team. The school consists of over 1,500 pupils, which you will be encouraging to engage with the English lessons.
The school offers a supportive leadership team, excellent professional development opportunities, and a positive, inclusive culture where staff and students work together to achieve their best. With outstanding sixth-form provision and a wide range of enrichment activities, it’s a fantastic place for passionate teachers to make a real impact.
What we are looking for:
*Previous experience teaching English Literature and Language at KS3 and KS4 levels.
*Early Career Teachers are also going to be considered for this role.
*Post Graduate Diploma in Education with Qualified Teacher Status (PGCE with QTS)
*Excellent knowledge of the curriculum in literature and language.
*Good Classroom management and ability to shift students’ focus to their assignments.
Your Skills and Expertise:
*Excellent organisational skills
*Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
*Great teamwork, to be able to liaise with the rest of the English department
*Can do attitude, with the self-motivation to inspire students and provide them with useful feedback on their work and build on their existing abilities.
*Previous experience planning, preparing, delivering lessons and creating relevant homework and assignments for the students.
Whether you are a highly experienced teacher, have previously taken a break from teaching or you are a newly qualified teacher - we want to hear from you!
