Family Solicitor
Locations: Blackburn
A fantastic Legal 500 firm is seeking a Family Solicitor to join its Private Family Law team based in Blackburn.
This opportunity is ideal for a dynamic and experienced Family Solicitor who is ready for a new challenge. You will join a well-regarded and collaborative team, with opportunities to advance your career while maintaining a sustainable work-life balance.
Key responsibilities:
*Family Solicitor to manage a varied caseload of private family law matters, including divorce, financial settlements, private children’s issues and domestic abuse cases
*Representing clients at court hearings
*Providing clear and professional legal advice, both written and verbal
*Communicating with clients, opposing parties, courts and third parties to progress matters effectively
*Supervising and mentoring Paralegals, including delegation and training
*Ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards
*Collaborating with other departments on joint matters or projects
*Assisting in the development of business plans and supporting firm-wide initiatives
*Participating in business development activities such as events, writing articles and professional submissions
What we are looking for:
*Family Solicitor 3 + PQE or Chartered Legal Executive with Family Practice Rights and Advocacy certification (or equivalent)
*Experience handling a variety of family law matters including court proceedings
*Knowledge of Legal Aid processes
*Excellent client care and communication skills
*Ability to manage own caseload, meet deadlines and work to billing targets
*Strong organisational and IT skills (including MS Outlook and Word)
*Commercially aware and aligned with the firm’s values
*Team-oriented, with a proactive approach to professional development
Desirable:
*Family Solicitor who has experience in conducting own advocacy
