Site Manager (Museums)

*Work Schedule: Full-time, Onsite
Join our dedicated team at Worsbrough Mill and Country Park, a historic site managed by Barnsley Council. As the Site Manager, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for over 240,000 annual visitors. This role is crucial as the site includes a 400-year-old grade II* listed water mill, retail spaces, a café, and various visitor facilities.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Manage the site operationally to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for visitors, tenants, and staff.
*Lead and develop the multi-disciplinary site team.
*Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants, contractors, and neighbours.
*Play a key role in on-site projects and enhancements to visitor experiences.
*Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, contractors, and relevant internal and external organisations.
*Order goods and services as required.
*Handle customer enquiries and complaints effectively in line with corporate frameworks.
*Operate, maintain, and clean site machinery or collections according to operational standards.
*Collect and collate performance management information such as visitor figures, income, and donations.
*Attend events to promote the service and conduct site tours as needed.
*Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and other relevant legislation, and manage repairs and maintenance issues promptly.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience in a supervisory capacity at a museum, heritage attraction, or similar environment.
*Aptitude for practical tasks and managing customer relationships.
*Proven ability to work independently without close supervision.
*Strong time management skills, with the ability to plan ahead and anticipate potential issues.
*Capability to develop practical solutions to problems.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate with the public, team members, and external organisations.
