About the RoleUxbridge College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lecturer in Special Educational Needs (SEN) to join our Foundation Learning team. This role focuses on supporting learners with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Autism. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, inclusive education that meets the physical, academic, social, and emotional needs of each learner.
Key Responsibilities*Teach and support learners with PMLD, SLD, ASD, and complex needs across Foundation Learning programmes.
*Design and deliver individualised curriculum plans tailored to learner needs.
*Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
*Carry out formative and summative assessments, setting clear targets for learner success.
*Develop innovative approaches for learners with complex communication needs, including Total Communication strategies.
*Contribute to non-qualification elements of the curriculum and community-based learning opportunities.
*Participate in residential trips and activity days to enhance learner experiences.
What We’re Looking For*Experience teaching learners with PMLD, SLD, and/or Autism in an educational setting.
*Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and safeguarding requirements.
*Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that integrate functional literacy and numeracy.
*Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
*Commitment to continuous professional development and adopting best practice.
