A friendly, boutique IFA practice near Croydon is looking for a Paraplanning Team Leader to run the paraplanning function and support a growing team of advisers. The firm wants someone capable and organised with solid technical know-how who can lead three Paraplanners, keep cases moving and make sure suitability reports are clear, accurate and fully in line with FCA and Consumer Duty expectations, without turning the process into a paperwork marathon.
The role is practical and hands on in a close-knit office where paraplanning is seen as the heart of the business, the place where good advice takes shape. Daily work involves mentoring and developing the team, holding regular one-to-ones and performance reviews, planning and prioritising workflow to meet adviser deadlines and SLAs, helping new starters find their feet and dealing with platforms, providers and third parties through Intelligent Office to keep re-work to a minimum and spirits to a maximum.
The position acts as the technical sounding board for more involved pensions and investment cases and works closely with the Head of Advice to improve templates, standards and the wider client journey, bringing common sense as well as compliance. A background in paraplanning within an IFA environment and the Level 4 Diploma in Financial Advice are essential, together with strong knowledge of pensions, investment wrappers, protection and tax planning, confident communication and advanced Excel skills, while previous leadership experience would be the cherry on top of an already decent cake.
