Job Title: Early Years BSL Teaching Assistant
Location: Camden, North London
Job Type: Full-Time (Part-Time Supply Opportunities Available also)
We are currently seeking a dedicated Early Years BSL Teaching Assistant to join a specialist hearing impairment school in Camden. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young learners and confident in using British Sign Language within an Early Years environment.
The successful Early Years BSL Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to support pupils with hearing impairments in their learning, communication, and social development. You will help create an inclusive and engaging environment where children can thrive during their crucial early years of education.
Key Responsibilities:
*Support pupils with hearing impairments within an Early Years classroom
*Communicate effectively using British Sign Language (BSL)
*Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
*Encourage language development, communication, and social interaction
*Provide one-to-one or small group support where required
*Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
*Minimum BSL Level 2 qualification or fluent signing ability
*Experience working with children in an Early Years setting
*A patient, nurturing, and supportive approach
*Strong communication and teamwork skills
*A genuine passion for supporting children with hearing impairments
This full-time Early Years BSL Teaching Assistant role is based in Camden and offers the opportunity to work in a supportive specialist setting.
We also welcome applications from part-time candidates with a BSL Level 2 qualification, who would be interested in daily supply work as a BSL Teaching Assistant across hearing impairment schools in North London.
