Business Development ManagerAutomotive OEM | London / Regional Travel
A globally backed automotive manufacturer is continuing its UK network expansion and is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive retailer performance, commercial compliance, and sustainable profitability across the network.
This role sits at the centre of retailer engagement, combining field activity with structured performance management and strong stakeholder influence.
Role OverviewYou will work directly with retail partners to improve operational effectiveness, financial discipline, and brand consistency. Acting as a trusted point of contact, you will lead performance reviews, monitor finance compliance, and support retailers in delivering strong results across sales, aftersales, and used vehicles.
The role is intentionally hands-on and requires regular regional travel.
Key Responsibilities*Act as the primary contact for retailer floorplan performance and utilisation
*Lead structured composite performance reviews covering sales, finance, aftersales, used cars, and customer metrics
*Analyse performance data, agree corrective actions, and track delivery against KPIs
*Carry out regular site visits and audits, ensuring facilities, operations, and customer experience meet brand standards
*Support retailers through refurbishments, upgrades, and compliance initiatives
*Drive engagement and consistency within the Used Car Programme, sharing best practice to improve profitability
*Work collaboratively with finance partners, agencies, and internal stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities
*Escalate underperformance where required while maintaining strong retailer relationships
Candidate Profile*Proven experience within an automotive OEM or dealer network environment
*Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to challenge constructively
*Organised, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
*Experience working with external partners, suppliers, or agencies
*Degree-educated in business, commercial management, analytics, or similar
*Fluent English and flexible to travel regionally
Salary & Package (London Market)*£55,000 – £70,000 base salary depending on OEM experience TBC
*Performance-related bonus (typically 10–20%)
*Company car or car allowance
*Pension and standard corporate benefits
