Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting a Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming and supportive school in the Corby area. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and mental health.
The Role As a Mental Health TA, you will support pupils who may experience anxiety, trauma, low mood, or behavioural challenges. You will work on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to help pupils regulate emotions, develop coping strategies, and engage positively with learning.
Key Responsibilities * Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with mental health and emotional needs

* Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour

* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff

* Helping pupils access learning in a calm and supportive manner

* Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have * Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or mental health needs

* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

* Strong communication and relationship-building skills

* A genuine passion for supporting pupil wellbeing

* An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
