Payroll Supervisor / Payroll Manager
Location : North West London
Salary: Circa £45-50k per annum

We’re recruiting for an experienced Payroll Supervisor / Payroll Manager to join a busy, fast-paced organisation and oversee the end-to-end payroll function. This is a hands-on role managing a team of 5 payroll professionals and supporting a high-volume payroll environment, ideally within retail or a similar sector.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll delivery across the business. This is both a strategic and operational role, requiring strong leadership, technical payroll expertise, and the ability to work under pressure in a high-volume setting.
Key Responsibilities
*Hands-on role, both overseeing and assisting with the full payroll process from start to finish
*Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 5 payroll staff
*Ensure payroll is delivered accurately and on time
*Handle escalations, complex payroll queries, and compliance issues
*Ensure all payroll processes meet HMRC, statutory, and company requirements
*Drive process improvements and efficiencies
*Work closely with HR and Finance teams
About You
*Proven experience in a Payroll Supervisor / Payroll Manager role
*Background in retail or other high-volume payroll environments
*Strong technical knowledge of UK payroll legislation
*Confident people manager with experience leading teams
*Organised, detail-focused, and calm under pressure
*Comfortable working to tight deadlines
