Job Description:
SEN Teaching Assistant - Alternative Provision Location: Bexley
Pay: £90 - £110 per day (depending on experience)
Academics are currently recruiting a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist Alternative Provision in Bexley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with additional needs who require a more personalised approach to education.
The Role: * Supporting students with Special Educational Needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and challenging behaviour
* Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
* Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
* Supporting students both inside and outside the classroom
* Helping to create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will: * Have experience working with SEN, SEMH, or vulnerable young people (school, PRU, youth work, care, or mentoring experience welcomed)
* Be calm, patient, and resilient with a positive attitude
* Have strong communication and behaviour management skills
* Be committed to making a real difference in students’ lives
* Hold (or be willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS
