SEN Teaching Assistant - Corby
Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential? Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a range of welcoming primary and secondary schools across Corby to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of pupils with special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, learning disabilities, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will play a key role in helping students feel supported, included, and confident in their learning environment.
The Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to provide tailored support to pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. Your responsibilities may include:
* Supporting pupils with their academic learning across the curriculum
* Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation
* Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP strategies
* Encouraging positive social interaction and independence
* Supporting pupils during transitions and unstructured times
* Creating a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment
Opportunities are available across both primary and secondary settings, offering you the chance to work with different age groups and a variety of needs.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are keen to hear from candidates who:
* Have experience working with children or young people with SEN (in schools, care, youth work or similar settings)
* Are patient, empathetic, and resilient
* Have strong communication and teamwork skills
* Are passionate about inclusive education and child development
* Hold relevant qualifications or training (e.g. CACHE, psychology, education, youth work) - desirable but not essential
* Are confident in supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and additional learning needs
