Assistant Accountant (Temporary Contract)

We’re recruiting for an Assistant Accountant who can confidently support reporting, budgeting, and financial processes within a busy financial environment. This role is ideal for someone who can step in quickly, work independently, and deliver accurate results from day one.
About the Role
As an Assistant Accountant, you will contribute to the production of financial reports, forecasts, and analysis while supporting budget managers and ensuring financial information is reliable and up to date. You’ll play a key role in maintaining strong financial controls and providing insights that support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
*Producing accurate financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis
*Supporting budget monitoring and attending regular budget meetings
*Completing reconciliations, journals, and assisting with month-end and year-end processes
*Ensuring financial data is recorded accurately and maintained to audit standard
*Preparing narrative reports and supporting management information packs
*Providing financial advice and guidance to internal stakeholders
*Assisting with ad-hoc financial tasks and project work as needed
Requirements
*Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role
*Strong analytical and numerical skills
*Competent user of Microsoft Office and financial systems
*Confident in producing financial reports and explaining variances
*Excellent communication and organisational skills
*Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
