Job Description:
IPS Group are working closely with a global specialist Insurer to support them with the hiring of a new Underwriting Manager within their Technology Practice.
You will lead a specialist Technology team underwriting P&C, Cyber and Professional Indemnity risks. This is a senior technical role, focused on acting as the main referral point for complex and high?exposure risks, supporting underwriters through hands?on guidance, coaching and technical training.
The portfolio is predominantly UK?based, with selected multinational exposures, and requires an underwriter with the capability to handle all technology lines, not just cyber.
The role carries responsibility for portfolio performance, including profitability, growth and retention, analysing loss trends, monitoring aggregate exposure and ensuring underwriting activity aligns with risk appetite and guidelines.
You will play a key role in developing underwriting standards, identifying training needs and driving continuous technical improvement across the team.
Externally, you will attend broker meetings from a technical and portfolio perspective, providing strong trading relationships and supporting new business and retention plans aligned to wider sector and regional strategies. Regular travel within the UK is required across regional and London Offices.
