Job Title: English Tutor - Prison Education
Location: Sittingbourne, Kent
About the Role:
Through Academics is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Tutor to deliver high-quality education in a prison setting. This role offers the chance to make a real difference by helping learners develop their reading, writing, and communication skills while supporting their personal growth and rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to learners’ needs.
* Assess progress and provide constructive feedback.
* Support learners in achieving qualifications and personal development goals.
* Maintain accurate records and adhere to safeguarding policies.
* Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
Person Specification:
* Relevant qualifications in English or Education (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent).
* Experience teaching English, ideally in a prison or challenging educational setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, resilience, and the ability to motivate learners.
* Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS clearance.
