Multi-Skilled Engineering Specialist

We are seeking a highly capable Multi-Skilled Engineering Specialist to help maintain the safe, compliant and uninterrupted operation of critical mechanical and electrical services within a complex, regulated environment.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with strong fault-finding, problem-solving and decision-making skills, who can confidently work across both mechanical and electrical disciplines. You will bring in-depth technical expertise across systems such as HVAC, steam and pressure systems, medical gases, emergency lighting, BMS and low-voltage electrical distribution, applying this knowledge to planned, reactive and compliance-driven work.
Success in this role requires the ability to diagnose complex issues, lead technical interventions, manage system shutdowns and contribute to upgrades and minor projects, all while maintaining a safety-first approach. You will use data, digital systems and CAFM tools to improve reliability, prevent recurrence and support asset lifecycle strategies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will advise stakeholders at all levels, work closely with contractors and colleagues, and operate calmly in high-pressure situations. A proactive mindset, adaptability to shift working, and a commitment to maintaining continuity of service in a patient-focused environment are critical.
