Assets Officer
Location: Local authority offices / Hybrid working
Grade: SCP 13–17
Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday
Annual Leave: 23 days, increasing with service, plus Bank Holidays
Pre-Employment Checks: Basic DBS check may be required
Role Overview
The Assets Officer assists the Assets Lead in managing and maintaining the local authority’s assets, including buildings, infrastructure, and fleet. This role involves record keeping, maintenance coordination, and providing support across various property and facilities functions.
Key Responsibilities
*Asset Management: Maintain accurate records of all assets, support the maintenance of a digital Asset Register, and manage asset life cycles.
*Maintenance Coordination: Assist in the delivery of maintenance programs, coordinate with contractors, and manage procurement documentation.
*Depot and Stock Management: Oversee depot operations, manage stock levels, and ensure a safe and organised environment.
*Fleet Administration: Maintain records for the vehicle fleet, coordinate maintenance checks, and manage vehicle documentation.
*Project Support: Provide support for property improvement projects, liaising with suppliers and contractors to ensure smooth execution.
*Property Administration: Maintain property databases, manage lease agreements, and handle tenant communications.
