Finance Manager
Location: Essex (hybrid)
Salary: £60-65,000
Successful Essex based insurance business looking for a qualified Finance Manager with proven experience within the insurance sector and staff management.


You will take ownership of financial reporting, control and analysis across a core client base. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting capability, a solid understanding of insurance finance and the confidence to operate in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Preparation and review of monthly management accounts
*Full ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
*Oversight of revenue recognition, accruals, prepayments and reserves
*Support statutory accounts preparation and year-end audit process
*Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
*Financial oversight of insurance accounting processes, including premiums, claims, commissions and deferred income
*Understanding and application of insurance-specific reporting and controls
*Liaison with underwriting, operations and compliance teams
*Support regulatory reporting and interaction with auditors and external Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles
*Provide variance analysis and financial insight to senior management
*Support business planning, pricing and profitability analysis
*Monitor KPIs and performance metrics relevant to insurance operations
About You
*Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
*Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar role within insurance
*Strong technical accounting and financial control background
*Comfortable working in a regulated environment
*Strong Excel and systems capability
*Confident communicator, able to engage with senior stakeholders
*Hands-on, detail-driven and commercially minded
