We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join a busy team in Hertfordshire on a fully office-based basis. This is an urgent, high-volume role running until the end of May, ideal for a payroll professional with strong manual payroll experience and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
*End-to-end payroll processing, with focus on accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
*Perform complex manual payroll calculations for all payroll elements
*Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring data integrity
*HR administration, including starters, leavers, absences, and job changes
*Support Time and Attendance processes for payroll accuracy
*Administer employee pension schemes and liaise with providers
*Respond to and resolve payroll queries in a professional and timely manner
*Collaborate with internal teams to improve payroll processes
Requirements:
*Proven experience in high-volume, manual payroll processing
*Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance
*Proficiency in Staffology and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables)
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
*Experience with pension administration is preferred
*Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
*Strong communication skills and confident in resolving payroll queries
