Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Sevenoaks, Kent
Setting: SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) School
Contract: Full-time / Term-time only, Temporary to perm
Start date: As soon as possible
We are looking to appoint a dedicated and resilient Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEMH school in the Sevenoaks area. This role is ideal for a HLTA who is passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs and making a meaningful difference to their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
*Plan and deliver learning activities to individuals, small groups, and whole classes under teacher direction as a HLTA
*Provide consistent, nurturing support to pupils with SEMH needs
*Support behaviour regulation and emotional development using positive behaviour strategies
*Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
*Promote a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
*Contribute to pupil progress, wellbeing, and positive outcomes
The Successful Candidate Will:
*Hold HLTA status or have significant relevant experience
*Have experience working with pupils with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour
*Be calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
*Demonstrate strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
*Be flexible, proactive, and committed to safeguarding and inclusion
