SEN Teacher - Sefton Primary School
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Sefton, Merseyside
Contract: Full-time / Long-term (with potential for permanent placement)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join one of our welcoming Sefton primary schools. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, ensuring they receive the personalised, high-quality learning experience they deserve.
You will work closely with the school’s leadership team, SENCO, support staff and families to deliver inclusive, engaging, and effective teaching across the KS1 and/or KS2 age range.
Key Responsibilities
*Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual SEN pupils needs.
*Create a supportive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
*Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and external specialists
*Develop and implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
*Monitor progress and maintain accurate pupil records
*Communicate effectively with parents, carers and multi-agency professionals
Qualifications & Experience Needed
? Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
? Experience teaching in a primary school setting
? Proven experience supporting pupils with SEN needs (e.g., ASC, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD)
? Strong behaviour management skills
? Understanding of EHCPs, SEN frameworks and inclusive classroom strategies
? A proactive, compassionate and resilient approach to teaching
? Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain)
