Your new role
Hays Education is recruiting Qualified History Teachers (QTS) to work on a supply basis across a range of secondary schools in Bristol and the surrounding areas. We are looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable History specialists who can deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach KS5 in some placements.We offer a variety of placement types, including:
*Day-to-day History cover
*Short-term block assignments
*Long-term History roles, available now, after Easter, and for September

What you’ll be doing
As a History Supply Teacher, you will:
*Teach engaging lessons covering British, European and World history at KS3 & KS4
*Follow school schemes of work and ensure continuity for students
*Promote critical thinking, source analysis and strong written skills
*Maintain high expectations for behaviour and engagement
*Adapt confidently to different school environments and department cultures
Long-term placements may include planning, marking, assessments and involvement in department activities.
What you’ll need to succeed
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
*Strong subject knowledge in History
*Experience teaching in a UK secondary school (ECT placements accepted)
*Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
*The right to work in the UK
*An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to apply for one
*A flexible, positive approach to supply work
*ECTs are welcome to apply
