Part-Time Business Development Manager (BDM) – 25 Hours per Week
Location: Carlisle, Cumbria & Northumberland (Hybrid)

Salary: £22,854 with uncapped OTE
About the Role
We are seeking a driven and proactive Part-Time Business Development Manager to support the continued growth of our UK & EU courier services. Working 25 hours per week, you will focus on generating new business, nurturing existing customer relationships, and driving sales activity across UK & EU. This is a field-based role that combines cold-calling, face-to-face meetings, and strategic account development.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Acquisition
*Identify, prospect, and convert new business opportunities within the region.
*Achieve or exceed weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales targets.
Account Growth
*Develop and grow existing accounts by introducing a wider range of courier and logistics services.
*Conduct regular client reviews to identify further service opportunities.
Sales Process Management
*Manage the complete sales cycle from initial contact and networking to proposal presentation, negotiation, and closing deals.
*Deliver professional sales presentations tailored to client needs.
Customer Relationship Management
*Build long-lasting, positive relationships with customers to support retention and satisfaction.
*Serve as a trusted logistics advisor, understanding customer challenges and offering suitable solutions.
Reporting & Analysis
*Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure all activities are updated in real time.
*Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, highlighting performance and pipeline updates.
Market Insight
*Monitor competitor activity and market trends within the logistics and delivery sector.
*Use industry knowledge to guide clients on best service options, delivery solutions, and operational efficiencies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
*Experience: Proven B2B field sales experience, ideally within courier, freight, or supply chain sectors.
*Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of logistics and B2B service selling.
*Communication: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
*Technical Skills: Competent in MS Office; experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
*Driving License: Full, clean UK driving license is essential.
