Job Title: Digital Archives Team Leader
Salary: £26,000 – £27,000 per annum
Hours: 36 hours per week
Contract: 6-month temporary (potential to become permanent)
Schedule: 5 days per week, on-site
Location: Wetherby
Bonus: Flexitime available
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Archiving Team Leader to oversee daily operations within a busy archiving environment. You will lead a team responsible for organising, cataloguing and preparing important materials for storage and preservation. This role is ideal for someone with experience in archives, libraries, records management — or a Warehouse Manager / Assistant Manager looking to transfer workflow, people-management and coordination skills into a meaningful, structured role.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead and motivate a team handling the organisation, cataloguing and storage of physical and digital materials
*Oversee workflow, delegate tasks and ensure the team meets productivity targets
*Carry out and supervise data entry, quality checks and adherence to archiving standards
*Support safe handling, movement and storage of large volumes of materials
*Train and coach team members to maintain high accuracy and efficiency
*Monitor storage conditions and help maintain preservation standards
*Liaise with internal departments to support ongoing archiving and cataloguing projects
Requirements
*Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
*Confident communicator with experience leading or supervising teams
*Ability to manage workflow, delegate tasks and meet deadlines
*Comfortable working in a structured, process-driven environment
*Experience in archives, records management or cataloguing beneficial
*OR transferable leadership experience from warehouse operations, stock control or team-leading roles
