Commercial WIP Manager - Global Digital Advertising Agency - 12 Month FTC - Paying £40,000 - £45,000
We are seeking an immediately available WIP Manager to join one of the largest Global Digital Advertising Agencies.
Reporting into the Commercial WIP Manager Lead, this role is responsible for the billing and WIP management on a portfolio of clients.
WIP Managers are responsible for the billable projects and you will be ensuring that best practice is applied to project management throughout the life cycle of the job.
You will be part of a dynamic team which is striving to ensure best commercial practice is at the heart of all agency business transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
*Oversee end-to-end job and project management within Workday, ensuring projects are opened, managed, invoiced, and closed in line with internal and client processes
*Act as a key finance partner to client and commercial teams, running regular project reviews and advising on WIP, billing, profitability, and process adherence
*Manage client invoicing, credit notes, FX variances, purchase orders, and project sign-offs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
*Support client contract setup, maintaining accurate master data and ensuring compliance with VAT and foreign currency policies
*Proactively manage Net Working Capital by reviewing WIP and debtor positions and liaising with shared service teams to resolve issues
*Ensure compliance with internal controls (ICFR), policies, and audit requirements, supporting internal and client audits where required
*Provide Workday support and training to client teams, alongside ad hoc reporting and investigation of balances
*Review WIP and pro-actively ensure any issues are resolved or escalated to avoid NWC provisions
Key Requirements:
*Must be immediately available or very short notice period.
*Previous experience within media, agency, or a service-oriented commercial environment (preferred)
*Strong understanding of billing, WIP, and Net Working Capital management
*Confident communicator with proven stakeholder management skills and the ability to challenge constructively
*Proactive, self-motivated, and process-driven, with a continuous improvement mindset
*Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple deadlines
*Strong Excel capability (e.g. SUMIFS, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
*Workday experience advantageous but not essential
